Dear Peter:

“There is something so fundamental in the human psyche that continues to yearn for this earth, this wild, no matter how disassociated or alienated from it we become,” you wrote. We are built on a platform of stardust, earth, and the animals and vegetables we eat. Although a growing number of prostheses will be planted into the meat of our being, on deeper levels of brain we remain, rooted to various ancient species of which we still dream.
