manufactured into pumps deserted when the aquifer runs dry, their rusting arms stilling reach out in the way that we have
an atomic theory of matter, a germ theory of disease, a genetic theory of inheritance, a tectonic plate theory of geology, a natural
selection theory of evolution, a blood- pumping theory for the heart, and even a contraction theory of muscles, we do not in
that sense have a theory of how brains work across dry sand and behind bushes.
