The poet
may be anonymous as the weather: hot, cold, wet,
cloudy,
dry, the heat
of a summer day, or snowflakes falling
to
the earth
dreaming of sparkling
evergreen leaves.
During
the Ice Age,
which
would have been
experienced
across
the millennia,
shaped not only their behaviors,
but
the
names
we
give to the weather of disasters,
froze, like
Odysseus, "the
man driven off course."
